APRIL 2000
EASTER
FLOWERS AND CLEANING
As usual the
church will be open on Saturday morning, 22 April, from 9.30 am, in
preparation for Easter. All help would be appreciated with the
cleaning and flower arranging, tidying and mowing the churchyard
(weather permitting). Donations towards the cost of flowers can be
given to the Rector or the Church Wardens.
MAUNDY
THURSDAY SUPPER - 20 APRIL AT 7 PM
It is Bow's
turn to host our own Maunday Thursday Supper. All are welcome but
please let us know if you would like to attend. There is no charge
but donations are gratefully accepted. Contact Kay Leeming, tel

PENTECOST
2000 - 10 AND 11 JUNE
The Diocese
is celebrating the 2000th year of Christianity by holding a two day
festival at the Bucks County Show Ground at Weedon. Saturday the
10th is a special Youth Day and Sunday 11th is a day for church-goers,
friends and families to gather together to discover new possibilities
for the new millennium. For more information and tickets contact Stuart

ALL
SAINTS FESTIVAL WEEKEND - 24 & 25 JUNE
Organisation
for this is well under way with another planning meeting to be held on
Tuseday 4 April at 7.30 pm at Driveside (74a Station Road).
In June the
church will be open to visitors to see the "Flower Festival",
from 10.00 am until 6.00 pm on Saturday 24th and from 10.00 am until
5.00 pm on Sunday 25th followed by a Songs of Praise Service in the
church at 6 pm. The Tower will be open both days. Help is
needed manning the tower, serving refreshments and generally tidying the
church beforehand, as well as the flower arranging. So if you are
able to assist in any way it would be greatly appreciated. Contact

Also please contact us if you would like to sponsor a flower display
which will be arranged on your behalf.
The Open
Gardens will be held on both days from 2.00 pm until 6 pm and we are
hoping to get a variety of gardens, large and small, throughout the
village. If you are prepared to open your garden, please contact
Brenda Toombs on 01908 375151 as soon as possible.
YOUTH
ON SHOW
After months
of hard work and rehearsals, this year's production Dracula Spectacula
takes to the stage. If anyone would like to come to Woughton
to see the show and needs a lift, please contact Mary
or telephone 647003. Thank you to everybody who has given us
material, clothes, props, etc. We were given a dismembered 'hand'
much to everyone's amusement!!! Nothing we are given is ever
wasted. Thank you.
PARISH
COUNCIL
The next
Parish Council meeting is Thursday 13 April at 7.30 pm. Please
note the Annual General Meeting is Thursday 11 May at 7.30 am.
A cleaner is
required for the Pavilion hours and salary to

BOW
BRICKHILL CLUB
The March
meeting went off to a flying start with a Fish & Chip Lunch enjoyed
by eighteen people.
The Fish
& Chips were supplied by "Henry Higgins" (Woburn Sands) at
a special Senior Citizen price of £2.35 per person. Members paid
£1.35 and a £1.00 subsidy was paid from Club Funds. Desserts
were supplied by members of the club.
After lunch
three sessions of Bingo were organised by Mrs Betty Barden and the
caller was Reg Goodger. Winners were Mrs Gilbert, Mr Charlie
Parker, typing with Mrs Betty Causer. The final game was won by
Mrs Valerie Bradbury. A 'Get Well' card for Mrs Goode was signed
by all club members and delivered to Bernard after the meeting.
After drawin the raffle the meeting closed at 4 pm.
The next
meeting is Tuesday 4 April at 2 pm in the pavilion. Mr Jack
Bromfield will be the guest speaker ' Bomber Command - part Two'.
All are Welcome.
WOMEN'S
INSTITUTE
The next
meeting will be in the Church Hall on Thursday 13 Apri. The
Competition is for a 'Hand Mirror'.
MOBILE
LIBRARY
The Mobile
Library will be in the village by the War Memorial on Friday 7 April
from 11.20 am to 11.40 am.
