Bow
Brickhill Sunday School
|
The Bow Brickhill Sunday
School was started at Easter 1999 by two local mums and is now run by a
group of us. |
Digging a hole for the Millennium Time Capsule |
As the church
is tiny the Sunday School is held in the church
hall at the bottom of Church Road.
We meet on the first Sunday of each month at 11 am and usually contribute to the family
service at the church the following week, most often by singing a song
that we have learnt.
|
|
We welcome children
between the ages of 3 and 8, though younger brothers and sisters, if
accompanied by mum or dad are also free to join in (and we won't
forcibly eject children on their eighth birthday!)
Children from outside the
village are welcome too.

Children's
Church made a hanging for the east window while the stained
glass was being repaired. Click on the picture for a
close-up of the hanging. |
A typical programme
for our meetings is as follows:
| 11am |
Children
arrive and get started on an activity, over the past year we
have made a variety of things from fondant fishes in baskets to
kites and Christmas decorations. Our activities are always
linked in to whatever our theme for the month is. |
| 11.15
am |
We
have a story or sometimes a play introducing the theme. Children
love to join in and ask questions or tell us what they know
about the chosen topic. |
| 11.30
am |
We
have a refreshment break and celebrate any birthdays that there
have been in the past month or any that are to come. |
| 11.45
am |
We
learn a song relevant to the theme or we sing some of our old
favourites. |
| 12.00 noon |
We usually end with a
prayer to which all of the children contribute. |
